Hi, is AI music (generated from my own composed music) ok to upload here? Or is it frowned upon? I could create some fun ChrisP tunes, and other tracks, to enjoy. |

Could work for a funny jingle maybe. But otherwise, submitting something created by machine seems like the very opposite of the creativity and originality that is supposed to mark the demoscene. |

Thanks for the input mirrorbird, good argu'es. I heard some other necta ppl/voices that said it's no prob including admins(?) but I might be wrong. Lets discuss further. |

Nectarine is demoscene radio and currently usage of AI is pretty much not allowed in music compo entries. There are some parties that have separate compos for AI content, like Assembly, but the entries haven't been that much about creativity but more fun and meme based content. My personal opinion is that we should not have AI based songs here as long as those are not widely allowed in demoscene. However, as things progress and if AI comes more mainstream demoscene entries and releases, we might need to reconsider.

IMO Nectarine is a place celebrating the musical creativity of demosceners, doing a lot with a little, DIY kind of ethics, and so on. So I don't think AI-generated songs belong here. If we did eventually expand to have some AI demoscene stuff like Lemonade is talking about, I feel like it should be specially marked, or in a separate section, or something.

Yes I agree, I think when it becomes more mainstream and accepted in Demoscene, then it can be a separate section, on necta and in compos etc, along with tag #AI of course. Thanks for the input guys!
